Itinerary

We will depart from the Hotel or Meeting Point, to know Punta Arenas, the main city in the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, founded in 1848 and located on the shores of the Magellan´s Strait.

We will visit its main streets and avenues. We will reach Cerro Mirador getting a panoramic view of the city, overlooking the Port, the Magellan´s Strait and Tierra del Fuego Island. Then we will continue our journey to Plaza de Armas, the meeting place among locals. Later, we will visit Maggiorino Borgatello Salesian Museum, to learn about the history of the Patagonian Colonization.

Also we will have the opportunity to visit the Sara Brown city Cemetery, one of the most beautiful places in Punta Arenas.

The cemetery is located on Av. Bulnes presenting a wooded section with birches and Canadian cypresses. Its architectural elements are integrated as a harmonious and homogeneous set. The necropolis with an area of 4 hectares, presents an esplanade and a central square crowned by a large cross donated by Alfonso Menéndez. The eclectic character of its architecture is shown in its access building as a manifestation of the European avant-garde.

Later, we will visit the Chilean replica of the Nao Victoria, a real scale construction of the ship of Hernando de Magallanes, a true reflection of the Naos of the 16th century. And where we will know in situ, the life above a Nao, and the daily tasks to survive on trips that took more than 3 months on the high seas. After knowing a little more about the great Travelers of the end of the world, our driver awaits us to take us to the hotel or Bmytrip meeting point.
